this is another guide on how to update your Infinix Hot 2 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow using SP flash tools. However, the flashing procedure won’t take much of your time unlike the previous guide I published on how to update Infinix Hot 2 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The previous guide was a little bit stressful, because you’ll need to install stock recovery, Android One rom and then flash the main OTA file via recovery mode, which is a long procedure to follow.
In this guide, all you need is the SP flash tools, which you’ll be using to flash the Android 6.0 Marshmallow rom dumped by Hovatek to create its scattered file, which makes flashing via SP tools possible.
What you need to get started?
1. SP flash tools (Download here)
2. VCOM drivers (Read Installation guide)
3. Android 6.0 Marshmallow file (Download here)
How to upgrade Infinix Hot 2 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow?
Step 2: Now, power off your device, and remove the battery if possible.
Step 3: Next, download the SP Flash tool, and extract the files to your computer. You should get the following files as seen below, after extraction.
Step 4: From the extracted files, open Flash_tool.exe
Step 5: Once the flash tool is launched, then click on the firmware upgrade tab and click on scatter loading button
Step 6: Now, locate the “MT6580_Android_Scatter.txt” file, which is on your desktop.
Step 7: After that, click download to begin flashing process.
Step 8: Immediately, connect your device (without battery if possible) to your computer via USB cable, and press Volume Down or up key, so it would be detected easily by your computer.
Step 9: The Flashing process would be in progress, and a Green button would appear once the process is completed.
That’s it. Boot your Infinix Hot 2 X510 devices and you’ll begin to experience Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the device. You can also verify the upgrade by going to SETTINGS >> About Phone >> Android Version
